Dripping Springs, Texas, has seen incredible growth in recent years and is expected to become even more developed over the coming decades. With its lush natural beauty, vibrant local economy, and close proximity to the city of Austin, this small town is becoming a desirable location for residential communities.
Dripping Springs has seen a remarkable surge in population over the last decade. According to its most recent census, which was taken in 2020, the city had an estimated population of 4,846. Since then, there has been an extraordinary increase of 70.31%, with the current population estimated at 8,234 – an annual growth rate of 19.42%. This exponential rise indicates the city’s booming economy and vibrant community.
Dripping Springs Mayor Bill Foulds reported a rapid growth in the city’s population, particularly evident beyond the 9.5 square mile city limits. The Dripping Springs Extra-Territorial Jurisdiction of 110 square miles was especially reflective of this trend, marked by an uptick in new housing developments. Such population expansion has increased the demand for services and infrastructure within the city and its broader ETJ.
According to estimates from the Dripping Springs school bond website, over 11,000 new construction homes will be built within the Dripping Springs Independent School District by 2034. This expansive development will undoubtedly bring tremendous opportunity for the area’s existing and new residents.
