It is a hot one out there today! We are hitting those mid-90s and let me tell you… that Texas sun is not playing around! It is the kind of afternoon where you just want to find the nearest swimming hole or a very strong air conditioner… and maybe a cold drink from one of our local favorites!
I am so excited to share some of my absolute favorite spots with you today! As someone who relocated here myself… I know exactly what it feels like to fall in love with this town! There is just something in the air here… the “Gateway to the Hill Country” really lives up to the name! Whether you are already a local or you are thinking about making the move… there is so much to explore!

Let’s Get Moving! Music and Dancing
If you know me… you know I love a good beat! Dripping Springs has such a vibrant music scene that makes every weekend feel like a celebration!
First up… you have to check out Mercer Street Dance Hall! It is the heartbeat of our town! There is nothing like a night of two-stepping on that wooden floor to make you feel like a true Texan! The atmosphere is always friendly… and the music is always top-notch!
And just down the road… we have Hudson’s on Mercer! It is such a cool, intimate spot for live music! I love heading there to catch local artists and grab a drink! Come visit me if you see me there… I love catching up with neighbors while the band puts a hurt on ’em!
The Great Outdoors
Even when it is toasty… our natural beauty is hard to beat!
Hamilton Pool Preserve is world-famous for a reason! That collapsed grotto and waterfall look like something out of a movie! Just a heads up… you definitely need to make reservations well in advance! It is the perfect place to cool off and snap some incredible photos!
If you want a little more space to roam… Milton Reimers Ranch Park is your spot! Whether you are into mountain biking… rock climbing… or just hiking down to the river… it is a nature lover’s dream! The views of the Pedernales River are absolutely stunning!
Food and Drink Favorites
Okay… it is literally impossible to pick just two favorites… but I have to mention these gems!
Abby Jane Bake Shop is a total must! Their pastries are made with stone-milled flours and you can taste the love in every bite! Their croissants are to die for… and don’t even get me started on the pizza nights! It is such a cozy spot to start your morning!
Then there is Oakwood Public Market! It is such a unique hilltop destination! It is a great place to grab a snack… find a unique gift… or just enjoy the Hill Country breeze! It is quickly becoming one of the best gathering spots in town!
Community Spirit
One of the things I love most about Dripping Springs is how we show up for each other!
You have to spend a Wednesday morning at Dripping Springs Ranch Park for the Farmers Market! It is the best place to get fresh produce… local honey… and catch up with friends! The community vibe is just incredible!
And for the families… Founders Memorial Park is the place to be! It has everything… trails… a playground… a skate park… and the community pool! It is the perfect spot for a weekend picnic or an afternoon of play!
Hidden Gems You’ll Love
There are so many little corners of this town that make it special!
Have you been to the Texas Hill Country Olive Company? It is so elegant and peaceful! Their olive oil tastings are such a fun experience… and the grounds are absolutely beautiful! It feels like a little slice of Italy right here in Texas!
And for my shoppers… Vintage Soul Boutique is a dream! Actually… all the shops on Mercer Street are amazing! You can find the cutest outfits and home decor that perfectly capture that Hill Country style!
