Hey Dripping Springs!
We’re back, and we’ve got news! The Weekly Drip has officially kicked off Season 7, and we’re doing things a little differently this time around. After a quick experiment with nighttime episodes (spoiler: that was a hard no for both of us), Amber Pierce and I are settling into our new groove… Tuesdays at 2 PM!
If you’ve been following along since 2020, you know this show has been our love letter to Dripping Springs. From local business spotlights to community events, book recommendations to real estate insights, we’ve been showing up week after week to celebrate everything that makes this Hill Country town so dang special.
And honestly? Season 7 might be our best one yet.

From Sunday Bookshop to a Movement
Let me take you back a few years. Amber and I were already doing the show, hyping up our community, when Sunday Bookshop opened in Dripping Springs. We showed up to the grand opening right here in Dripping Springs, fell in love with the space, and thought… why not read a book together? That grand opening was the moment the inspiration for the Weekly Drip Book Club really began.
What started as two friends wanting to share a good read turned into the Weekly Drip Book Club. We figured maybe 10 or 15 people would join us. Maybe.
Try over a hundred.
The book club exploded in the best possible way. We realized pretty quickly that this wasn’t just about books… it was about building connections, finding your people, and creating a space where everyone feels welcome. Our members tell us all the time that they joined for the books but stayed for the friendships. And that’s exactly what we hoped would happen.
How Book Club Actually Works
Here’s the thing about our book club: it’s not your typical wine-and-cheese situation where everyone pretends they read the book. (Okay, we did pick one book by its cover once, and we don’t talk about that one. Lesson learned.)
Each month, we choose a main book that rotates through different genres. One month you might be reading fantasy, the next month it’s a banned book from our Rebel Readers chapter, then maybe a romance or a lifelong learner pick. It keeps things fresh and pushes us all to read outside our comfort zones.
But wait, there’s more.
We also have nine genre-specific chapters that meet roughly every three months. So if you’re obsessed with fantasy or you only want to read romance, there’s a chapter for that. Want to tackle banned books? Rebel Readers has you covered. Between the main book and the chapters, you could literally read a new book every week if you wanted to.

Then there are the pop-ups. These are the spontaneous, magical moments that happen when you’ve got a community of book lovers. Author meet-and-greets, book-to-movie nights, book rebinding workshops with our incredibly talented member Rachel… the list goes on.
We even brought in Hal Elrod, author of The Miracle Morning, who’s sold over 3 million copies. Amber’s 10-year-old came with her, and he left pumped about starting his own miracle morning routine. If that’s not a book club win, I don’t know what is.
The $15,000 Library Pledge (We’re So Close!)
Here’s where things get really exciting.
When Amber and I started the book club, we knew we wanted it to mean something bigger. The Dripping Springs Community Library has been a cornerstone of our community for years, and they’ve been working tirelessly to build a new facility that can actually accommodate our growing town.
So we made a pledge: $15,000 to support the new library building.
And here’s the beautiful part… we didn’t do it alone. Every single person who joins the Weekly Drip Book Club pays $25 in annual dues, and 100% of that goes straight to the library. Every book swap, every clothing swap, every event we host… it all supports this mission.
After two years of fundraising, we’re currently sitting at $14,400. That means we’re only $600 away from hitting our goal!
When that new library opens and you see the large glass butterfly hanging over the stairwell (part of the Butterfly Campaign), you’ll know that our book club helped make that happen. Every member can say they were part of building something incredible for Dripping Springs.

Beyond Books: The Vision for the New Dripping Springs Community Library
This new Dripping Springs Community Library is not just a bigger building. It’s a whole “Beyond Books” vibe.
The vision is a 37,000-square-foot, two-story facility designed to fit the Hill Country, not fight it. Think tons of glass, warm limestone and wood, and a layout that actually works for how we live and learn now.
A few of the concepts that have me seriously excited:
- A dedicated children’s floor so littles can have their own space to explore, read, and get curious
- Modern study spaces for teens, remote workers, and anyone who needs a quiet spot to lock in
- A super cool outdoor amphitheater integrated into the hillside, because learning and community events do not have to be stuck indoors

The Library Is Way More Than Books
Can we talk about how amazing our library actually is? Because if you think it’s just a place to check out paperbacks, you’re missing out on some seriously cool resources.
The library offers:
- Podcast in a Bag: Yep, you can check out a complete podcasting kit with professional equipment. Everything you need to launch your own show, right in a backpack. How cool is that?
- 3D Printing: Bring your ideas to life with their 3D printing resources
- Seed Library: Free seeds for your garden because why not?
- Museum and State Park Passes: Free admission to explore Texas
- Dungeons & Dragons Campaigns: Amber joined the kids’ D&D group (they graciously let the adult nerd play along), and it’s become a highlight every other week
- Therapy Dog Reading Program: New readers can practice reading aloud to trained therapy dogs, building confidence in the sweetest way possible
- Pokemon Club, Manga Meetups, Homework Help: There’s literally something for everyone
The current facility maxes out at about 130 people before it becomes a safety hazard. The new building? It’ll accommodate over 1,000 people. That’s game-changing for our community, especially for our high school students who need a safe space to hang out between classes.
Books & Birdies: Mark Your Calendars
Speaking of supporting the library, their big fundraising event of the year is coming up on March 25th: the Books & Birdies Golf Tournament.
Whether you’re a golfer or a local business owner looking for meaningful community involvement, there are still sponsorship opportunities and foursome spots available. It’s $1,000 for a foursome, and they’ve got champion packages with mulligans (that’s a do-over in golf speak) and raffle tickets.
This event is crucial for continuing the momentum on the new library building, so if you’ve ever thought about sponsoring a community event, this is your chance.

Why This Matters for Dripping Springs
As someone who sold more houses than anyone else in the Dripping Springs Independent School District in 2025, I talk to families every single day about what makes this community special. And you know what comes up in almost every conversation? The library. The schools. The local businesses. The sense of belonging.
When you’re looking at Dripping Springs neighborhoods and trying to figure out if this is the right place to call home, these are the things that matter. It’s not just about square footage or granite countertops… it’s about knowing your kids will have access to incredible resources, that you’ll find your people at book club, that there’s a weekly show dedicated to celebrating everything local.
Whether you’re already living here or you’re working with realtors in Dripping Springs TX to find your dream home, this is the kind of community involvement that makes our town more than just a place on a map.
