Hey Dripping Springs! Happy Tuesday! Can you believe it is already that time of year again? Spring Break is officially knocking on our doors, and if you are anything like me and Amber, you might be feeling that tiny bit of “good” panic… you know, the one where you realize you have your lovely children for an entire week and need to figure out how to keep them entertained!
We just wrapped up Season 7, Episode 6 of the Weekly Drip, and let me tell you, it was a fast one! We were a little short on time and maybe not as “put together” as usual… but that is just real life, right? We are calling this the “Mom Camp” edition because that is exactly what it feels like when you are the one in charge of making the magic happen.

Before we dive into the fun stuff, I have to mention how offended I was that the time change happened on International Women’s Day this year! They took a whole hour away from us on our day! Can you believe it? We didn’t even get the full 24 hours to celebrate. But don’t you worry… we plan on celebrating women all year long.
If you are looking for things to do because you missed the boat on signing up for those fancy camps, don’t worry! We have plenty of ideas for you to explore right here in the Texas Hill Country.
Parks in Dripping Springs TX: Our Secret Weapon
When I think about “Mom Camp,” my first stop is always our incredible local parks. We are so lucky to have some of the best outdoor spaces in the state right in our backyard.
Reimers Ranch is basically the “Old Faithful” of Hill Country fun. Whether you want to go on a serious hike, get down to the water, or even do some dripping springs stargazing, it has everything. It is a Travis County park, so there is a small fee, but it is worth every penny for those views and the fresh air.
If you want to stay closer to town, Founders Park is where it’s at! Now, my family doesn’t do too well on wheels… unless it’s a car… so you might not catch me at the skate park part of it. But the community there is actually amazing! The kids, the teens, and the adults are all so supportive of each other. It is really cool to see. If you aren’t a skater, you can hit the trails or let the little ones get their wiggles out on the playground. Sidenote: It is VERY likely you’ll see Amber at the skate park while her kiddo shows off his sweet skills!
Pro Tip: Did you know there is a new Walking Club at Founders Park? It is being powered by Max Living and they are meeting on Wednesday, March 18th from 12:00 to 2:00 PM. It is a great way to get some steps in and meet some new neighbors!
And don’t forget Ranch Park! They usually have the “Coyote Kids” programs, but even if those are booked, you should check out Astronomy in the Park on Monday, March 23rd from 6:30 to 7:30 PM. It is only $15 a person and they usually have telescopes set up so you can really see the stars. I love a good star party! I am so blessed to have an incredible view from my own porch, but seeing them through a professional telescope is a whole different experience.
Splash Pads and Soda Shops
Is it going to be hot? Is it going to be cold? That is the big question every Spring Break in Texas! It is a total guess. If it’s warm, you have to hit up the splash pad at Route 12 Filling Station. The kids can run through the water while you enjoy some great food.
If the weather decides to be “garbage” (as we like to call it), just head over to the Soda Shop at Oakwood Market. You can grab a sweet treat and pretend it is warm outside while staying nice and cozy indoors.
And if you are feeling really adventurous and the sun is out, maybe take a day trip down to San Marcos to float the river! That water is a constant 71 degrees… which is definitely “brisk”… but if you don’t mind the cold, it’s a blast. Amber was the kid who would stay in the water until her lips turned purple, so she gets it!
Goats, Beatles, and Polo (Oh My!)
If you are looking for something a little different this Sunday, March 15th, head over to the Jester King/Fitzhugh area for some Goat Cuddles. I am a sucker for a baby animal! If I can touch it without getting bit or kicked, I am there.
Sudsmonkey, is also doing Line Dancing on Thursday nights from 7:00 to 10:00 PM. If you miss the old Mercer Dance Hall days, this is a great way to get your fix and learn some new moves!
And for something truly unique, check out the Polo Tournament at Ranch Park this Sunday. The Texas Arena League is putting it on, and it is an all-day event from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. There is nothing like seeing those horses in action!
Date Night and Markets
Happy Saturday! If you are looking for a break from the kids, this Saturday, March 14th has some great options. You can hit up the Austin Feel Good Makers Market at Dripping Springs Distilling from 12:00 to 5:00 PM to find some local treasures.
Then, for date night, head over to Winehouse for Comedy Night at 7:00 PM! Winehouse is right off Old Fitzhugh across from Haus of Jayne, and it is just the cutest spot.
If you need something a bit more zen, there is a Meditation Under the Stars event this Thursday at Deer Creek Hill Country Retreat. It’s a nighttime meditation… very “Dripping Springs” vibe… and perfect for clearing your head before the Spring Break madness fully kicks in.
The Dripping Springs Community Library: The Real MVP
Last but certainly not least, you have to check out the Dripping Springs Community Library calendar. Their events go way beyond just books!
They have:
- Family Yoga and Story Time at the Driftwood Dome (Monday the 16th).
- Introduction to Photography.
- Finger Knitting.
- Reading with Ruby the therapy dog.
- Dungeons and Dragons nights.
- STEM stations at the Belterra Rec Center.
- Lego clubs and Chess clubs.
There is really no excuse to be bored in Dripping Springs! Most of these library events are free, though donations are always a great way to show some love to such an important community resource.

Spotlight on our Neighborhoods
As a dripping springs real estate agent, I love talking about where we live just as much as what we do! If you are out and about this Spring Break, take a drive through some of our local gems.
Bunker Ranch
If you want that classic Hill Country luxury feel, Bunker Ranch is the place. We are talking massive custom homes on huge lots with plenty of trees. It is tucked away enough to feel private but close enough to town that you aren’t driving forever to get a coffee. It is truly one of the premiere spots for families who want space to breathe.
Big Sky Ranch
On the flip side, if you love a more modern, community-focused vibe, Big Sky Ranch is fantastic. It is super walkable, has great amenities, and the homes have that fresh, contemporary look. It’s perfect for people who want to be right in the middle of the action with easy access to the schools and downtown.

Why Experience Matters
Whether you are looking for the perfect home in Bunker Ranch or trying to sell your spot in Big Sky, you want a realtor in dripping springs tx who actually knows the dirt here! I am so proud to share that Ashley sold more houses than anyone in the Dripping Springs Independent School District in 2025!
When we say we know this community, we mean it. We aren’t just selling houses… we are living the “Mom Camp” life right alongside you!

Let’s Hang Out!
If you are thinking about making a move or just want a tour of some of these amazing neighborhoods, reach out! I would love to show you around and help you find your perfect slice of the Hill Country.
You can catch me and Amber every Tuesday at 2:00 PM for the Weekly Drip. We love hanging out with y’all and sharing all the local tea.
Have an amazing Spring Break, keep your sanity during “Mom Camp,” and we will see you next Tuesday!
