Facility Upgrades and Expansion Plans

One significant project stems from the 2018 bond program, where DSISD voters approved a $132 million bond referendum. This funding facilitated various essential projects, including the expansion of Dripping Springs High School to accommodate up to 2,500 students, construction of Cypress Springs Elementary, construction of a new Walnut Springs Elementary, and conversion of the former Walnut Springs campus into the Center for Learning & Leadership. It also covered miscellaneous projects at Dripping Springs Middle School, Dripping Springs Elementary, and Rooster Springs Elementary, turf and track improvements at Dripping Springs High School and Middle School, improvements and expansion of the District Transportation facility, and district-wide technology infrastructure improvements and maintenance upgrades, including land acquisition.

Another notable project is the expansion of Sycamore Springs Middle School. This project aims to increase the campus’s student capacity from 850 to 1,200 students and includes an expansion of the school’s cafeteria. Construction is set to begin in early 2024 and will last approximately one year. This expansion is part of DSISD’s efforts to accommodate growing enrollment and enhance educational facilities to meet the community’s needs.

Dripping Springs ISD has proposed a $223.7 million bond package focusing on district growth, capital improvements, and renovations on older campuses. Key components include constructing Elementary School #6, expanding Sycamore Springs Middle School, building a new facility for the Special Education 18+ Program, planning for future schools, and updating security and ADA compliance across all campuses. The bond election is scheduled for May 6.
